Cambodia is a country recovering from a generation of warfare and violence including almost four years of rule by the genocidal Khmer Rouge. It abolished all education, healthcare and currency, and execution of all educated people killing almost two million in total.

After 20 years, Khmer Rouge was finally extinguished but their legacy lives on in broken families, the law of the gun and the landmines littering on the remote areas.

Situation Today: Diseases in the country rife with AIDS and tuberculosis. Poor health care standards mean that even a simple treatable illness can be fatal. There had been violence and instability but now Combodia is at peace.

By God's grace, the number of Christians is increasing day by day. Due to increase in number, the need for church building arises. We also had to consider about the believers and especially the younger generation about their future. They should be taken cared of for a long term future. Majority of the Christians in Cambodia are leading a life of poverty that hinders them in their day to day living and spiritual growth. Most children could not attend and enroll themselves as fulltime students in an educational institution. Moreover, due to unavailability of church building, the believers are scattered and started mingling together with other faith that makes them weak in their spiritual life. No proper place of fellowship with one another.

The best solution of solving this problem is to set up Christian schools, and provide professional training skills and education to the less privileged. The government has set up a new education schedule which forces students to pray (the Buddha prayer) after class, so, the Christian school going students cannot follow these norms because they no longer belong to Buddhist.

Presently, poverty prevents most parents to send their wards to school. At present some churches in Cambodia have built primary schools which enable the poor children and the orphans for full time learning.

The main reason why we want children to go to Christian primary school is that, it is the best period to make them known about Christ. The school is one of the means we used in demonstrating the goodness of God and in proclaiming the Gospel. The teaching program of our church on our primary school will mainly focus on two option; quality standard education and promoting Christian faith.

Church buildings also play a vital role in Christian community. A church is one of the best places to have fellowship with one another. To some extent, church building also attracts people. Many believers scattered due to lack of specific place of worship.

Therefore, we invite you to join hands with us in reaching out to unreached and unbelievers of Cambodia.
We will appreciate whatever help you can extend to us in this matter.

May God bless you abundantly!

Agape’s Bicycles Distribution Ceremony 03-September-2011
On the 03rd of September 2011,
Ps. Prak Vuthy His Excellency Mao Vuthy the direct adviser of Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly of Kingdom of Cambodia and the Vice Provincial Governor of Siam Riep Province presided the Humanity Bicycles Distribution Ceremony in AGAPE school that is a member of Cambodian Christian Protestant Community with the presence of Ladies and Gentle Men that are the Chairmen and Chairwomen of various departments, Teachers and students’ Parents.

After the speech of respect and welcoming of Ps. Prak Vuthy and the director of AGAPE school and Rev. Stanley Gerard is the donators, His Excellency Mao Vuthy made a speech and discussions with the Teachers, students and students’ parents.  His Excellency said that “Children are the hope of the Nation” that’s why we all need to take good care of them and they deserve good education and foods.

As he continues he said: as the direct adviser of Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly of Kingdom of Cambodia and the Vice Provincial Governor of Siam Riep Province, He would like to say greeting (say Hi) and show great love from Samdach AKak Thomopothisal Chea Sim, Chairman of Senate, Samdach AKak Moha Ponhea Chakrey Heng Samrin, Chairman of NationalParliament, and Samdach AKak Moha Sena Badey Decho Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Kingdom of Cambodia. Three Samdachs always love and care for all Cambodian people of all positions including humanity activities, Social Developments and Religious Beliefs.

His Excellency said… humanity supports such as these 30 bicycles and school materials are really helpful and decrease difficulties of the students and the poor families that can’t afford buying a bike. He continues giving advice to the students that they need to try to study hard to become good kids, good students, good friends and good people in the future. You kids need to listen to the teachers carefully so that they would have good points/level in class.

His Excellency and all of us also agree that there are so many children in Cambodia and that they are the hope of the nation, so if we raise them up properly, in the future they will be the hope, become good leaders in taking part in building up the country towards development.

This shows us that, our brothers and sisters in Cambodia and in other countries especially the governments try really hard in appealing for supports and human resources from various places to help developing our country including infrastructures and human resources.
